Start date TBA Fall 2017
Ages 4 to 6. Birth years 2013 & 2012 We can take 3 year olds who will be turning 4 during the season. They child needs to be able to pay attention for at least 5-10 minutes, preferable attend pre-school or day care, understand sharing. Parents must stay and be available to help their player. Please call Elizabeth and discuss before you register.
Parent volunteers' coach small groups of players with directions from the Academy Coach Coordinator. When you sign up your player your participation and volunteerism as a "Parent Coach" is essential. No knowledge of soccer is needed. Just a desire to enjoy time with your player and other children and help them learn and grow. "Team Parent" help the coach keep the players organized and attentive, pass along club and academy information to the other parents and help collect snack fees for the season, help groups get their pictures taken, take attendance and keep the Coach Coordinator informed of any concerns or problems your group players or parents may be having during the season. All parents are encouraged to get out there and participate and help your player be successful and have fun.
The younger players and those new to soccer play 3 v 3. As their skill develops and they get older they will progress to 4 v 4. There are no goal keepers in this age group. It is possible for returning players and new players who have never played before and are in a birth year to play under 8 but just are not ready to play in the Academy. Parents should contact Elizabeth Cooke to discuss being in the academy for a season to get experience and instruction before going to under 8. The club has done that in the past and it worked out great for the players.
The main focus with this age group is having fun, developing social skills, learning soccer skills, having fun, following directions, learning some soccer rules (like which way to go to score), having fun. They do not play in the rain and when the heat index is too high practice will be cancelled. The schedule is for eight weeks. There are "healthy snacks" and a drink at the end of each match and an "end of season" party and medals after the last match which is usually the first weekend in November.
Supplies your player will need:
- 1. #3 soccer ball with the players name on it
- 2. Shin guards (players can not participate without them) Be careful not to get them to big. They should not be wider than your players leg or so long they hit under the knee.
- 3. Soccer shoes ( they can play in sneakers but they do better with cleats) Be careful not to accidently get baseball cleats. Very important do not buy to big hoping to get a second season. Club has a box of cleats players have outgrown. Please ask.
- 4. Water with their name on it and plenty of it. Please, NO sport drinks or energy drinks
- 5. Clothing that fits the weather. NO jeans please, they can not move in them.
- 6. Soccer socks (dad's tube socks also work but are not cool), Soccer socks are worn on the OUTSIDE of the shin guards
- 6. Sun screen and bug repellent are advised.
- 7. NO JEWLEY! ear rings must be taken out
The club has a box of out grown soccer shoes and shin guards donated by previous parents for any player and parent who needs them. Please ask prior to start of practice and we can meet to see if there is something that fits your player.

We did not have enough players to do U6 in Fall 2017, had 36 players spring 2017, 23 players for Spring 2016 season, 9 players Fall 2016, and 33 players in the fall of 2015. Fall 2017 was 1st season based on birth year. Many players were starting school for the first time and parents did not want them doing both.
There is NO SMOKING, E-CIG, VAPORING on the pitch (soccer fields) If you wish to smoke please go to the parking lot. If there is grass of any kind under your feet, there is no smoking there.
